Time in bed is compressed to match time actually asleep, then widened week by week as efficiency climbs. It is counter-intuitive by design and explained as such in session one.

Week two is the worst week

Nothing in the course is advice about darkened rooms or herbal tea. Participants are frequently disappointed by this in week one and grateful for it by week six.

Everyone wants to go faster at week four. Going faster at week four is how you end up back at week one.

The apnoea pathway begins with a home study rather than a laboratory night, which cut the wait for a first result from months to under a fortnight.

Her window reached seven hours and twenty minutes in week nine, and has stayed there.
